Default What's up with my keyboard? - 03-16-2010, 12:00 AM

Hey all,

This should be an easy question but I'm rather confused. I bought a Dell Mini 10v (atleast I'm pretty sure!) in Canada today. The entire part number is im10v-5711e.

The box shows the keyboard as the one I expect, with the near full size left shift key, the normal enter key etc... however upon opening I've got this.

It looks as though it's a French version, I went back to the place I bought it from but they weren't of much help and didn't have any more stock so I'll likely have to go to another store or return it.

Any ideas, is it a stupid question???

Thanks

When I had gotten my first netbook, I chose a Asus EEE 1008HA, and it had french on the keyboard as well. I really didn't care for this, plus, it didn't work quite as well with Snow Leopard as the 10v does. So I returned it. Went to Dell.ca, purchased a 10v and now have a french-free, Mac-running Netbook.

I could be wrong, but I believe most computers sold from a store will include that mutt of a french-english keyboard.

being as where the 10v is VERY near being discontinued (t-minus x days and counting), it almost seems that they are sticking anything into the boxes just to get rid of them and hope that people dont notice the differences..

Thanks for the replies! I was worried about it being discontinued so I thought now would be a good time to buy. Anyways, I took it back to BestBuy and customer service was actually nice enough about it and found me one that is correct!

Cheers
