Default Ordered a mini 10v at last £113.25 + Tiny7 :) - 03-15-2010, 05:51 PM

Hello Guys,

Just thought Ill let you know about my purchase, I was browsing Dell Outlet on the 4th of March and come across a mini 10v scratch and dent for £113.25! With VAT it come to around £130 with free delivery.

Specs as follows:

Inspiron Mini 1011
10.1in Widescreen WSVGA with Truelife
MISC
Dell Wireless 1397 (802.11 b g)
Battery Primary 3-cell 24W/HR
Ubuntu Linux 8.10
Memory 1024MB (1x1024) 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel
Grade 1 Scratch or Dent
Hard Drive 8GB Solid State
Atom N270 (1.6GHz,533MHz,512KB)
LCD Back Cover Black
Scratch and Dent

I plan to install a striped down version of windows 7 (by eXPerience) and optimises it for the SSD drive (disabling indexing, hibernation, defrag etc)

I have a 40GB 2.5” drive doing nothing which will be used to sore music and video

Welcome to the forum, but please note that we do not condone discussion of pirated versions of software in this forum. If you downloaded an image of Windows 7 from someone other than Microsoft, it is not legal. Be sure that you have a properly licensed copy of Windows. I don't know the provenance of the stripped-down version you are using.

False. The legitimacy is in the serial number, not in the disc image. If he has a purchased copy of Windows 7, he can install any modified image that will accept that serial.

Sorry, you are mistaken. Copyright controls who is allowed to make copies of the software. Licensing for installation is another thing entirely.

My advice is to sell the 8GB SSD - you'll get around £35 on eBay and then buy a regular 250/320GB drive for the same price - that is what I do when I buy the 8GB SSD refurbs.
