Default Ordered 10v but they're sending 10z - hackintosh??? - 02-10-2010, 12:35 PM

Hey
Sorry I've searched this forum but Im not sure if what I'm getting is a 1010 or 1012 or what?

Its labeled 10z. I actually ordered a 10v 2 weeks ago and am pissed they have decided to upgrade me without asking!!! GRRRRR

My question is:
Is this netbook compatible with OSX? I have never built a hackintosh before so was hoping to try on something easy (hence ordering the 10v).

You're from Australia? I think that's one of the places where the new 10 (1012) is called the 10z. Furthermore, N400 series CPU and GMA3150 clearly indicate the 1012.

As for OSX compatibility, it seems to be a work in progress, with unknown potential.

This is what happened to me (in Australia). Fortunately I caught that they'd switched the model on me straight away and phoned them and told them I wanted what I'd ordered.

I'm still waiting for it to be delivered so it could still be wrong but the order manifest on the website is listing all the components of a 10v so I'm hopeful. *fingers crossed*

Thank you. This is so disappointing. I will be calling them as soon as business hours begin.

They told me it was an upgrade, but from what I can see, there is nothing in this upgrade I want. Not only is it not going to work with OSX for a while but it is ugly and heavier...

They did the same to me. I ordered my 10v on 2/14. After a day and a half of the order being "In Production", the status changed to "Changed". I had to call them up to find out they changed the order from the 1011 to the 1012. I told them to cancel the order. =(
