you told me the other day and I quote

"job done
fresh install of xp and boot time has gone from over 60s to 24s
RESULT!"

I worked with you from 6:15pm to 9:22pm (like 3 hrs) getting it to load from usb, you posted on another thread that you messed with the bios and lost your hard drive totally, got that fixed, we reloaded xp from usb and you said it went from over 60 seconds to like 24 seconds....I dont get it??????

how much faster than 24 seconds do you want man?....what is up with you and these posts?...

you keep screwing around and you WILL wind up re-loading and re-loading XP over & over again!!!!!!!!!!

jees man take it easy! it's not meant to be an insult to your help, which i fullappreciate by the way. it was just since i installed all my necessary programs etc that the boot time had slowed down quite a bit and i had read somewhere about configuring xp to boot without unecessary services etc. i think im entitled to ask a few questions about it since i'm very new to both this and the mini 9. isn't that the whole idea of the forum? but thank you for your help the other day again. i was really stuck in places.

sometimes we just have to leave well enough alone...these minis are never designed to run like a full size laptop and too many people expect too much out of them....there is only so much that can be done with them...and we must just accept that they are what they are...otherwise buy a bigger more powerful machine...my full size laptop, a 17inch HP is running dual Pentium 4 processors running at 3.2ghz a piece, but it weighs 10lbs....I dont expect the same performance out of a mini, many people complain about the video quality and the speed and such and these little things just cant do it

PS: maybe some of your NECESSARY programs are not really that necessary after all and if they really are necessary, you might have to make a decision on whether you want speed or necessity..sometimes we cant have both..especially in the Mini world
