I think thats what the issue with it is, but I am not sure. After about a month of so it take 1 minute and 45 seconds just for it boot up and almost that long just to turn off. After the fresh install it only takes 30 seconds. I have a runcore 16g and 2gb ram chip in mine already. I dont have any programs installed on the thing, just run the internet. all of my files are stored on a 2g sd card and I have 150gb of music on a external drive so theres nothing on the internal ssd but the OS

Antivirus programs are notorious for slowing down boot and shutdown times. Some are much worse than others (cough..AVG..cough)

Well, then, I'd say reinstalling the system every couple of weeks is probably a good idea, especially if your wife has "unsafe" web viewing habits.

yeah, she has very unsafe habits (not porn, just junk web sites).... most of the time I make her use her iphone insted of the mini cause thats alot more secure to getting viruses and what not.

If you use Windows 7, don't forget Microsoft just released a free antivirus software...very barebones but sounds like what you want. Also, make sure you activate your firewall.

I'm not in USA. I'm not sure if I can activate the software in another country if I buy it from US. Anyway, I have been reading yesterday about Apple not using activation in Mac Box Set. I am still not sure if the software is exactly the same whether I buy it in US or overseas, but I think I'll still buy from US and try out as the price is much cheaper.
