Default dell mini 9 - 11-27-2009, 06:13 PM

I need help with my dell mini 9, which browser do I need to allow me to get into facebook and use my credit card? I keep getting a message "ssl protocol disabled" but it seems to be on. Thanks

Which browser did you try? How did you determine that SSL should be enabled? Any browser should work. You may also want to check if you are running a firewall product that is disabling access through port 443.

This article shows how to enable SSL in Firefox.

Thank you for your reply I have freed space on the hard drive it it up to about 20, I am still unable to use my credit card and facebook, when I first log in I get a message "could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has not read/write restrictions and your hard disc is not full" could this be the problem i went through your suggestions apart from port 443 which I do not understand. My computer knowledge is slightly less than zero, I appreciate your time on this. thanks Minnsy

See if the instructions here help:

My guess is that you have the "corrupted file" issue. If the other suggestions don't help, follow the instructions on creating a new profile.

I had this problem on my Mini 9 when I originally had Ubuntu installed on it last year, and it was indeed the corrupt file issue causing it. There were quite a few people running into this bug back then.
