Default Deal on a Mini 9 - 11-12-2009, 07:52 PM

I am thinking about getting a mini 9 now that dell has them for $199 again. However, since I am going to upgrade the ram and HD on it and installing OS X, any kind of deal I could get would be great. I am a university student so I need to look into a student discount, but are there any deals or coupons I can use to bring the price of the Mini 9 down anymore?

I just checked Dell's US site and didn't see a link for the Mini 9. Where did you see it?

The home outlet has a couple of coupon deals going on right now - there's a code posted in the coupon code thread with your name on it

Yeah, I spent about 10 minutes digging for one this afternoon. I picked up a refurb Lat 2100 and even though it was a good price, an extra 15 or 20% off would have been nice.

Ack, there's a white Mini 9 on the Home Outlet for $300, but that's a bit more than I wanted to spend, especially when a new black is $100 less and the only diff. is the SSD drive. Any buying advice for me (I am wanting to spend $200 or less to get a Hackintosh)

$199 is great. You can always buy another SSD down the road for less than $100 bigger than 4GB. I run an nLited Windows XP SP3 on mine. Be careful though, 4GB is NOT a lot of data to play with! So make sure you have a SDHC card of 16GB to fill with your media.
