I want to install OS X on my 10v but I don't have a retail copy of Leopard or SL. Can I download it and burn it on a disc and use that as my install disc?

I searched the forums but didn't find anything regarding that type of disc.

Can I install snow leopard without going through 10.5 first? If that's the case then i have no problem doing so.

Another question since you're already answering me: instead of an 8gb flash drive, can i just use a HDD? It's formatted as NTFS and can't delete anything off of it. I can partition it, though

What you will see on our forum is that we do not condone discussion or use of downloaded copies of OS X or Windows, as these are illegal copies (MSDN/Technet excepted) Buy your own. Technically, you should buy the "Box Set" if you don't already have Leopard, but the $29 upgrade disc will work even without an existing installation.

Last question: how can I tell if my 10v has bluetooth? I went to system info but it doesn't explicitly say I don't have it.

I suppose one way is to run the Dell Wireless Switch utility (press F2 on a 10v) and see if you can turn on BT. It may not show up under system devices until enabled, since it is connected by USB internally.

I have an icon in the system tray which blue with a whitish/yellowish middle when bluetooth is on and when bluetooth is off it is blue with a reddish middle..

you mean the "upgrade" disk can do a full install on a formatted (blank) SSD/HardDrive on the mini 9/10? sweeeeeet!! c",)
