Default Why does my product key not work - 09-21-2009, 09:33 PM

I've been running xp professional for a number of years. I recently had to restore my computer to its original state. When I try to open microsoft office outlook I get a box come up that asks for username etc plus the product key which is 5 boxes of 5 digits/numbers each box. I type in the product key from a sticker on the side of the computer and it says I have typed in an invalid product key. I cannot work out what is wrong.
I would appreciate some help from someone who knows more than me about computers (which is anyone over the age of about 3 years) so I can sort out this problem.
Many thanks.

Default you need the key for MS Office - 09-21-2009, 10:16 PM

Microsoft Office is asking for your product key and you're entering the key for XP Pro

Am I missing something here??

Always keep the original packaging that has your key numbers,
and I always make a copy (or 2) of these software keys in case I lose the original package.
Hint: you need the package/CD sleeve from MS office outlook...

It's also rather evident that roncarr is not using a Dell Mini of any kind, as none come with XP Professional, none come with Office (I suppose you can buy it separately) and none have been available for "several years".
