Default super n00b here... vostro coming, and just got hp 110..which one? - 09-20-2009, 05:54 PM

hello,

I do real estate in NYC, USA and have a need to be mobile.

so, I have ordered the vostro v90--- missed the 199 deal (boo!) but still got it for $235, 1g and 16 gb ssd....

and I got a v305 all in one printer 40 bucks off from 99, down to 59

THEN....hehehehe

my finace got me an HP 110

now, I like the HP better, because I have it now! I am using it and getting used to it as we speak.

so I am glad I got the vostro, just to be able to compare them...

QUESTION...

kinda the same thing, these two machines? why do you folks all choose dell, and not the HP?

and, I will post a comparison between the two when I get the v90.

thanks

allen

What OS does the Vostro run? If it is Ubuntu, unless you get Windows for it then your Dell V305 is a paperweight:

OpenPrinting database - Printer: Dell V305

It is ridiculous that Dell will try and sell you things that will not work with Linux (or even Macs) when you buy a Ubuntu system from them. They make almost no store adjustments for computers that are different!

well...the printer is for my other system....xps dell desktop

but.....after reading and comparing, the mini 9/vostro is only 1 inch shorter in length than the HP

width and the thinkness is about the same as the HP..the weight is about 1/4 lb less

so, I guess I just have to compare them side by side when the vostro arrives...

after some reading , it seems I can update to ssd's in both....

I am very into the small computing form factor....

You could be in big trouble for even asking which netbook to keep.
