Default Re: Can a Mini 9 do Remote Access? - 12-18-2008, 12:24 AM

Hmmm.... some interesting choices here, but....

I have the Mini 9 with Ubuntu Linux install and looking for a solution to remote access MAC OS (Tiger & Leopard) and Windows XP. I'll also need to remote access the MACs with VMWare fusion running Windows XP and Vista desktops.

Primarily interested in RA for MAC and VMWare.
All boxes are behind a single Linksys DSL Router.

I'd like to use the Mini to access these boxes while at a hotspot, hotel, overseas, etc...
Can anybody think of one good solution (commercial or not)?

Appreciate it - Thank you

It sure can, that is what i bought mine for. Installed i have Cisco VPN, teamviewer, UltraVNC, remote desktop, and hamachi for my personal VPN. It runs fine with some system tweaks, even tethered with my phone.

Default Can a Mini 9 do Remote Access? - 09-25-2009, 03:06 PM

Hi. I am trying to setup an adhoc network with a mini 9 as my server and using a panasonic toughbook wireless screen as the remote. I instlled XP Pro SP3 and 2Gb RAM onto the mini. Everything I have tried (including using n810 with PyRdesktop and/or tightVNC) has been unsuccessful. Am I missing some drivers to enable me to activate remote access?
