Default New Mini 9--out of space in 10 days?!?!? - 08-17-2009, 10:32 PM

Just picked up a Mini 9 on the $199 deal, 4gig SSD, w/ Ubuntu. I know 4gigs isn't much, but I didn't think I'd run into space issues inside of 10 days! Haven't downloaded ANYTHING other than updates. I'm new to Ubuntu, so I don't know what to weed out of the files to open up space. .help!

First, I'd clean out the downloaded update files. Try running "du -sh /var/cache/apt/" in a terminal to find out how much space they're wasting. Then run "sudo apt-get clean" to clean them out.

They can safely be removed after the updates have been applied.

("du -sh /var/cache/apt/" means "disk usage, summary, human-readable of /var/cache/apt/", "sudo apt-get clean" means "run apt-get's clean command, with superuser privileges")
