I played an HD video (UK version, something like 720p) in full-screen on my Mini 9 - worked fine. This was an XVID-encoded AVI played from the SD card, not streaming Flash.

Little off topic, but the topic name is "Dell Mini 10v vs 10" and I'd like to put my vote towards the 10v. I personally have one, and love OS X running flawlessly on it. The 10 is simply more expensive for just a little bit more speed, not enough for the extra $100 if you ask me...

Hulu Desktop I set my stream to low quality. works just fine. Also if you like old school gaming, emulators run great. I have Project64 and ePSXe running full speed off of an SDHC card.

How would the GMA 950 compare to my "Nvidia Geforce4 MX 4000 128MB". Its a pretty old gpu but it does what i need.
The nvidia is better only because the GMA 950 is being powered by a intel atom. Now if the gma 950 is powered by a core duo.... it's a whole different ball game.

Default Mini 1010 GMA 500 - 11-07-2011, 10:04 PM

If you have one please visit those sites and play a vid, then try it fullscreen (480p for hulu) (sd, hq for youtube) and tell me how it performs.

Also, what is the difference between the GMA 500 and 950, the 950 looks like it has more power, but the 500 looks like it has newer tech. I would rather get the mini 10 with the GMA 500 if it could do both of the above (i hate plastic computers, looks/feels cheap)

Also, I heard you could install max osx, how good is its performance?
I have the 1010 and it can run Youtube (not HD) for only a few videos before it gets choppy. When I try and stream media from other sites it is pretty painful too (this is after I start fresh from a reboot too). From what I have read, the GMA 500 chipset is not preferred. I am hoping to upgrade my chipset and the soldered 1 gig memory with a new 2 gig daughterboard to improve the performance....I'll let you know if it was worth it.
