Default How can I tell if the Mini 9 I ordered has the WWAN card in it? - 07-31-2009, 01:15 PM

Hi All,
Just bought my mini 9 a few days a go and I am waiting for it to be shipped (says "In Production"). At the time I wasn't concerned with the mobile broadband option, but I've decided it would be handy to have. On my order it says this:

Does this mean it has WWAN functionality? I can't imagine why they'd put the "Base LCD Assembly" line there if it doesn't since all the parts are separated by a line of dashes.

Help? Also - ordered from the US store if that's a factor.

What you're looking for is Dell HSPDA 530 WWAN card.

I should clarify. That description in the inventory just states you have the system board with no WWAN connector. Normally Dell doesn't provide the WWAN connectors installed unless you order the broadband card.

I've ordered two new Mini 9s in the past and both have the same "base LCD assembly" listed.

So then there won't be a connector on board either, gotcha. I should call Dell and order before they ship it so I don't turn a DIY effort into a "Break It Yourself" effort.
