Default RAM question - 07-28-2009, 08:58 PM

So I used Crucial.com's RAM configurator thingy to find out what kind of RAM the Mini 9 takes, and it says DDR2 PC2-5300 and DDR2 PC2-6400. Does it really matter which one? Or is Crucial.com lying?

533MHz / PC2-4200 or faster RAM is all the same, everything will be limited to 533MHz by the Mini 9.

Mini 9 | Intel 5100 Wifi | Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook
Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit

Okiedokie. That's what I was looking for, because I didn't want to spend the money on the faster RAM if it's just going to be bottleneck-ed by the other parts in the system.
