Question Help with Verizon UM150 USB Modem on Mac OS 10.5.7? - 06-25-2009, 07:35 PM

Has anyone been able to get a Verizon UM150 USB Broadband Modem to work on their Dell Mini9 Mac? I am unable to get it to recognize the keystroke to bring up a Terminal window from within the VZAccess Manager. Verizon tells me that this is needed to update the "MIP"(?). They showed me how to do it on my standalone XP box.

They tell me that to do this, I need to press "Apple"+"Shift"+"T" and that a terminal window should open up showing me the available modems.

I tried manually opening up Terminal but it comes up with a standard prompt.

Do you think it could have problems with the keyboard mapping? When I try holding down the above mentioned keys, VZAccess Manager just buzzes back at me. I guess it doesn't like the Dell keyboard.

Any suggestions?

Maybe if you can figure out what Command+Shift+T does you can just type it in, and get it to display in the terminal? I would move this question over to the OSX area, and somebody might be able to help you.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll post it over there now.

BTW, Since I updated the MIP profile from XP, the card now works on both of my Macs. I was told that this would only work temporarily since the card has to update the MIP about once a month and it won't be able to do it from my Mac if VZ Access can't bring up the Terminal window.
