Default Internal Sim Card Reader/Writer - 05-08-2009, 07:29 AM

Is it possible to use the internal sim connecter as a reader/writer other then used for communications. I have my connecter soldered in and havent recieved the other hardware for 3g yet. I was wondering if all it took was some drivers or something to recognize the device. Its bugging me that i cant test to see if my sim connecter actually works or not. So if anyone has any ideas or has seen something that relates to my problem dont hesitate to leave a reply. Thanks

I wouldnt see why not as long as you could find software that works with your operating system and that your card software isnt running at the same time. However, i havent tried it to tell you. If you find anything good that works nicely let me know.

This guy has videos on how to solder the Mobile BB cards and to actually replace your WWAN with a MBB without soldering.

I have the same question. Is it possible to use internal SIM card reader for editing or backing up SIM cards? I tried to use some freware for other USB SIM readers but they do not see this internal reader in the battery compartment. Had anybody ever used this piece of hardware?
