If you hit CTRL/ALT/DELETE you can see how much Vodafone stuff boots at startup (another reason to ditch the Vodafone Software as well). Anything with VMC stuff seems to override the modem when running other software. I've got a colleague who's buzzed the sim slot and it is a software issue NOT hardware. If all else fails then remove everything from hardware devices (modem related of course- not everything!) and when Windows 'finds' new hardware simply point to the drivers elsewhere on this forum for the Caroline Jones GPS Hack and that'll give you GPS as well. You can sort this out though. James :-) |

Either there is a software problem (unlikely) or the hardware wasn't soldered in correctly or is incompatible/damaged. System Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo SU9600 @ 1.6GHz w/ 800MHz FSB, 6GB DDR3 RAM, 12.1" LED BrightView Display @ 1280x800, Corsair 128GB SSD, 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4550 Graphics, Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 WiFi Card, Qualcomm Gobi 2420 Mobile Broadband WWAN Card w/AT&T, HP Bluetooth 2.1 Module, Validity Finger Print Reader, HP Webcam O/S: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit |

For some reason the Mini manages to retain the SIM information even when the Mini is off. I found the solution was to Shutdown the Mini, remove the power, take off the battery, replace the SIM, then, and this is KEY...LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES.....so there is no power to the Mini from either battery or Power Supply....then replace the battery and fire up the Mini, then open Wireless Manager and it should find your SIM. Looks like the Power has to completely die on the Mini in order for it to reset the SIM...weird!! Works for me every time, if still a problem, try leaving the battery out for even longer. ---------- Post added at 12:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:37 PM ---------- Quote:
