Default Dissapointed with Vodafones Customer Service - 11-07-2008, 11:10 AM

Vodafone really just got on my nerves....

The Broadband package comes with a "content" lock to restrict adult material, annoyingly I encountered this on the train :x

So any way I called the service to remove it, this is how it went:

#1 Lady asked for the "phone number" of the laptop (whichis tied to the SIM), I said I did not know, so she was for my name and address and the number onthe SIM card itself, which i had to repeat about 3 times... I ended up getting ratty with her and putting the phone down as I had told her everything about me and she still could not find my account.

#2 Similiar to above but a lot more helpful. The lady explained how she could not get the account up and didnt entertain me by taking my other details.

At this point I started up my laptop again, and sent my phone an SMS using the vodafone software, so I knew the number my laptop had been assigned. I noted this down in notepad and called again...

#3 Asked for my name/address right at the start of the call, put me on hold then hung up....

#4 A man with a very profsessional tone, took my details at the start of the convo, addressed me as "mr Dunham" etc. Took my details, saw both my accounts and it was all wrapped up within 3 minutes, I expressedmy gratitude...

Your laptop is not tied to the sim card...All Vodafone need to do Is remove the restriction from your Vodafone number which is attached to the sim.

I have tried different Vodafone Sims in my Dell Mini and they all worked fine.

Remember that once you have taken charge of the Dell Laptop it has to be returned to Dell if it needs repairing etc not Vodafone. Vodafone will not support it..

Dell Mini 9: Black, WinXP, 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD, Vodafone 3G Built in (This is cool). 250GB USB HDD, 4GB SD Card. ITunes, Office 2007, Blackberry Desktop software.

It was an 888 pop up that got me, I definitely browsed "adult" content before tho, I can't see the point in content locks when they're so inconsistent anyway
