Default Using Dell Mini Abroad - Mobile Broadband - 04-07-2009, 03:58 PM

Hi All

Am planning a trip for a couple of weeks to Thailand and would like to use my Dell mini whilst there, for general surfing etc. Nothing too bandwith heavey, Have a couple of questions that i was hoping for answers on

I am planning to buy a pay as you go data sim card when i arrive, (not keen on using my vodafone card in the mini, Think i may end up with a large bill)

Is the Dell Mini going to be locked like a mobile phone, I got it free on a deal direct from Vodafone, How easy would it be to unlock if needed ?

Will i need to install some more software to manage my connection with a different provider, Any recomendations ?

Does anyone have any advioce on which providers card i should be buying in Thailand + rough cost

Thanks in Anticipation

The Dell 5530 Broadband card is locked to AT&T in the U.S. So I guess your card would be locked as well. You have to get the unlock code from your current provider.
