After doing a bit of searching I did manage to find a used cricket modem for less then half what it goes for new, Software is included. I also found alot of very bad reviews written about the service especially after the 60 day "warrenty" runs out. A few however were really good reviews with outstanding data rates and no problem watching or seeing anything on the net except on-line gaming.....it wont do that. So after I get it, I plan to open it as carefully as possible to see what is inside and take pictures of it for all to see.

Are you planning to use Cricket only in your city or will be traveling with it? Isn't Cricket limited to only parts of the U.S.?

I travel at least once a year and at those times wish I had mobile broadband. At home, I use our home network, but I'd love to have Internet access from airports, in the car, and a meetings when I'm not in a hotel room.

Just don't know what to try. Don't like contracts. I really wish there were a USB broadband modem that is pay-as-you-go so I could use it now and then.

Any suggestions?

Id suggest that if you are not planning on using it any further, you can try to carefully pry the two pieces apart. Most likely they are glued together and there might be a screw hidden under a sticker somewhere. id look under those first before you start prying on the case. no need to damage it if you dont have to.

Good Luck !!
