Default Mini 9 OSX10.6 and 3G internal modem - 12-08-2009, 05:56 PM

Hi all

Anyone had any luck getting the internal 3G/HSDPA modem in the mini 9 to work in the UK with O2? I have a Simplicity tariff with unlimited internet, and I am having no luck.

Worked fine when I previously had Windows 7 on the machine, and on my iPhone when using it. Any idea for software or settings?

Many thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks for this post- have finally managed to get my Mini9 working with an O2 Simplicity SIM from my iPhone.

Was just wondering if anyone knew of a way or a good program which monitored the amount of data being sent/received when using the 3G card? Worth remembering that although mobile phone providers say 'unlimited' browsing, it is normally only around 250mg, which can quickly be got through when using the real web.

Thanks in advance!

CheetahWatch: CheetahWatch: Huawei E220/E270 HSDPA Monitor for Mac OS X

EDIT: Oops, sorry, tried it myself and it didn't work with the 5530. Perhaps someone wouldn't mind looking into the source code and figuring out how to make it work with the Mini 9?

Default UK Three dongle SIM - 02-25-2011, 08:05 PM

Hello all,

I have a Dell 910 UK spec with Vodaphone software pre-installed.

At the moment I am using my three dongle via USB with Three connect software.

Ultimately it would be nice to use the internal modem so contacted customer support two weeks ago, today they rang and offered up the following solution.

a) Remove Vodaphone software, restart system.

b) Insert SIM from dongle at which point the software will recognise the new SIM and prompt for settings which he gave me.

I asked what software as there didn't appear to be anything else other than the Vodaphone connect installed, at this point he said he couldn't help further and to contact Dell.

I thought I would check in here before doing anything,

Thanks,
