Yes, if your "thingy" is described in your Device Manager as a 5530 card, the I recommend this one: Drivers and Downloads which is the Card Driver from Dell.
(Don't worry that it says 5540, it installs the correct driver anyway!)
I did try the Vodafone Connect software but gave up on that in the end and use this one: Drivers and Downloads
(The Mobile Broadband Manager, also from Dell) which is quite a new one.
With those, (which incidentally are both written as being specifically for Windows 7) and a Vodafone SIM installed I have send SMS messages, and browsed the web, using the Vodafone mobile broadband network, and although the GPS option seemed as if it might work, it couldn't seem to find any satelites at the time!
I am by no means a so called 'expert' on this sort of thing, and was quite pleased when it worked after a couple of 'clicks' without me having to enter all sorts of weird information, so please don't start asking me anything too technical!
Oh, and one other thing, I am not sure if it will work the same way with a Vodafone PAYG SIM, as I am using the 60 day 'contract' one which came with my Mini 10v offer.
